Brazilians don't read much. According to research, the annual average is two books read from beginning to end per person. The Free Books Project is an initiative that aims to increase the number of Brazilian readers by utilizing the country's most accessible library of classics: the Public Domain website.

Every artistic work becomes a public domain asset after 70 years of the author's death, which means that anyone can have free access to that content by visiting the website.

However, very few people are aware of this collection of artworks. So the project comes as a hack in activating these literary works that are available for free.

We designed 5 posters for the classics: Macbeth by Shakespeare, Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, Dom Casmurro by Machado de Assis, The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, and spread them in different places.

By connecting graphic urban art into classical literature, we allowed readers to access the content of each book in PDF format via QR Code.
